South Korean students fight cyberbullying
In light of the recent cyberbullying-related high-profile celebrity suicides in South Korea, a nationwide program called the Sunfull Movement, aims to put a stop to personal cyber attacks and create a more positive atmosphere on the web for young people. Students are encouraged to post positive comments online in response to negative ones, and to thank, comfort and compliment each other.
Under the program, students in the Hogook Middle School in Ilsan, outside of Seoul and in other schools, fight online harassment by posting positive comments on message boards and other forums. Since the Hogook Middle School began the Sunfull program, bullying at the school, both online and offline, has decreased and students and teachers are getting along much better.
