UK: Increase in the number of children rescued from pedophiles
The number of children rescued from pedophiles by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre (Ceop) in the UK has doubled to 278 in the past year.
47 of the children were identified through analysis of photographs and videos posted online by pedophiles.
Meanwhile, 417 suspected child sex offenders were arrested for offences from possessing indecent images to rape.
Ceop was established in 2006 and currently has a network of more than 46,000 volunteers that give internet safety lessons.
