UK children to get internet safety lessons at school
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown announced a new initiative aimed at teaching every school child in the UK how to surf safely online. Under the new Click Clever, Click Safe campaign children as young as five will get internet safety lessons at primary school. The new strategy will target children directly, rather than their parents.
The campaign, designed to deal with cyber bullying and online grooming by pedophiles, bears the slogan "Zip it, block it, flag it", echoing the "bop it, twist it, pull it" refrain in the popular Bop It audio toy game.
The campaign will urge children to be careful not to reveal private information online, to block suspicious e-mails from stranger or unknown sites and to report any other thing that is considered to be suspicious.
