Israel: 33 year-old Pedophile suspected of chatting with over 1,000 young girls and of raping a few of them

Avinoam Braverman, a 33-year-old computer expert from Tel Aviv, Israel is suspected of posing as a man in his early 20s and of contacting about 1,000 young girls, aged 8-15. Braverman is suspected of rape (statutory), sodomy, indecent assault, sexual harassment, distribution and possession of child pornography. Apparently he contacted his victims on online chats, chatted with them on instant messaging applications (IM) and convinced them to send him nude photos or have virtual sex (‘cyber-sex’) with him. According to Israeli Police Computer Unit Braverman had one of the largest databases of incriminating child-pornography ever found.

The suspect allegedly met some of his victims and had sex with them in their homes when the parents were out. According to police, Braverman would check when his victims' parents were due home from work and meet the victims in their homes after school and before their parents returned. On other occasions he would ask the girls to pretend to be sick and skip school, and would then come over to their house and have sex with them. He was arrested in early January thanks to the alertness of the parents of an eight-year-old girl. The parents noticed that their daughter was chatting with a strange man presenting himself as a 25-year-old.
